Digital scrapbooking is the creative process of combining digital photographs, digital artwork and written information to tell a story about an event, a person or an object. This requires the use of software that allows the layering of elements to create a 3-dimensional look.
One such software program is Forever Artisan, which was developed specifically for digital scrapbooking on a PC, and has wonderful, easy-to-learn features. Both the software and the artwork and embellishments are affordable and easy to install. Photos4Generations also offers training, see our Home page for upcoming workshop dates.
What is Digital Scrapbooking?
Forever also offers freshly designed artwork and predesigned pages that make creating beautiful projects quick and easy. With cut-and-paste, traditional scrapbooking, folks use decorative paper, stickers, embellishments and word art to adorn their pages. The same goes for digital scrapbooking, with an added benefit: once you purchase artwork, it's yours to use forever, so you never run out of your favorites!
Digital scrapbook pages can be posted and viewed online (posted on Facebook or a photo viewing site or website) or they can be used to produce hardcover and softcover photo books, calendars, display items, gifts, and other printed materials.
It is recommended that even though you post your photos to Facebook or other online sources, it is wise to have a "physical" copy of those memories somewhere. In this day and age, SO many of our memories are based on their being captured in photos! Many times, we would have almost no recollection of an event or happening (particularly in childhood) if it weren't for the photos!
Mac users can create books and gifts on the Forever Projects site. Simply create or log into your Forever account and click on "My Forever" in the upper left corner, then pull down to Forever Projects. Make sure your photos are uploaded to your Forever account AND placed in a Forever online album.
